Since I am currently writing a series, I decided to try out the Organize Series plugin by Darren Ethier, who by the way is a fellow pastor-blogger. With this cool plugin, when you are on the single-page view of a post you will see a box listing all the articles in the series in a little box. (To get to the “single-page view,” just click on the title of the article.) I may tweak the appearance a little more, but it seems to work just fine. I originally learned about this plugin in Lorelle on Wordpress.
I hope that you like it!
The ESV blog has an article on Collaborative Bible Study Materials:
The Internet makes large-scale collaboration possible, with Wikipedia as Exhibit A. Theopedia and others have tried to do something similar for theology and commentary.
But sometimes smaller-scale ideas can be just as productive, as in the area of personal or family Bible study.
This is something that I have been thinking about for quite some time. Read the rest»»
The Christian Web Trends Blog has published Christian Web Trends 2007 Predictions. In the article they list five trends for 2007 that have implications for the church:

I have made a number of small cosmetic changes to the site, and have also implemented a cool new plugin, Share This by Alex King. Now under each post you see a Share This icon, which will bring up a box containing links to a wide variety of social networking sites. It also allows you to share a post that you like via email. Give it a try!
I have also changed the look of the Category pages, and moved the category feed link to the bottom of the corresponding category page.
I really like my web host, which is Bluehost.com. Eleven months ago when I first signed up, they provided 4 GB storage and 100 GB for transfers. After a few months they upgraded all their accounts to 10 GB storage and 250 GB transfers. Automatically!
Today I received an email with the following message:
We are writing you today to tell about some good news regarding your bluehost account. Starting May 1st Bluehost will be offering 15 Gigs of disk space, and 400 Gigs of data transfer. As always when these upgrades occur you aren’t charged a thing.
That’s almost 4 times the storage than I started out with less than a year ago, for the same price. This time I had to hit “Reply” and request the upgrade, but that is very easy. I think that it is very cool that they informed their current customers about the upgrade even before it appears on their web site. Compare this to my former host, which upgraded the accounts that they were selling but didn’t even inform the current customers. I had to discover the upgrade on their web site and call them to request the upgrade. Add 24/7 toll free telephone support and a price of $6.95/month (when you pay for 2 years), and it’s a hard deal to beat!
I have set up feeds for my blog categories, so that if you are interested in only one catagory you can subscribe to that. The links are connected to the orange square symbols like this
that you see in the left sidebar after the category names.
I have added a new feature to my theme, namely a “side blog” (also called “asides”). You can see it in the right sidebar, under “News and Notes.” This is a place for brief comments about something that I have seen on the web, along with a link. These side blog posts will apear only in the side blog so that they won’t clutter up the main page.
For any interested Wordpress users, to create this side blog I used the sideblog plugin by Kates Gasis, with a few modifications of my own to make it work the way I wanted to.
